- Pokhara - World Peace Stupa hiking is a short one-day hike starting from Pokhara. The hike takes about 2 to 3 hours, depending on your pace. Located on Ananda Hill, the Peace Stupa was constructed by Nipponzan-Myohaj. ‘Shanti’ means ‘Peace’ in Nepali, hence the name ‘Shanti Stupa’ in the local language. Out of 80 world peace pagodas worldwide, two are in Nepal, with one being the World Peace Stupa in Pokhara.
Hiking to the World Peace Pagoda in Pokhara not only offers a wide panoramic view of the Annapurna, Dhawalagiri, and Mt. Fishtail mountains but also provides a top view of Fewa Lake and Pokhara City. At midday: The guide will arrive at your hotel for pick-up.There is the possibility to stroll to a boat if you are located in Lakeside, which will transport you across the Lake. If Lakeside is not within walking distance, the guide will provide a concise description of the journey and brief you about the upcoming hike while commuting to Lakeside via taxi.
By 12.30pm: We will embark on a 30-minute boat ride to reach the hiking starting point across the lake.
As of 1pm:Hiking towards the World Peace Pagoda commences. The path involves some ascents and descents, yet its common use by visitors deems it recognizable. Be cautious as the road may be muddy and slippery during the monsoon season. A part of the trail involves an uphill climb through the woods.
By 2.15 pm:Engulf in the tranquility offered by the World Peace Pagoda and its surrounding area.
By 2.45pm: The journey concludes and we return to the hotel.
