Embark on an adventure to Coimbra, an ancient city situated in the heart of Portugal. Once the capital of the nation, it is now distinguished by its medieval old town and the historic University of Coimbra.
Next stop is Aveiro, a waterfront city often referred to as Portugal’s miniature Venice. It is a significant center for urban dwelling, port facilities, rail transport, academia, and tourism.
Keep in mind that this schedule is flexible. Depending on the group’s preference, we might start our journey in Aveiro.

Best Aveiro & Coimbra guide - Juan was extremely professional, courteous, friendly, amusing & most of all knowledgeable on all the locations we visited.
Went above and beyond his duties to ensure we were comfortable and educated on the points of interest. He kept us hydrated since it was so hot which was so appreciated.
Wish he could stay with us our entire trip.

Great guide and both cities exceeded our expectations - Lili was a great guide that made this trip, though both Aveiro and Coimbra exceeded our expectations. Aveiro was fun to visit the Costa Nova beach community, plus the boat rides around the canals. But what we really liked was walking around the town and we had a good lunch. For Coimbra, I would recommend buying the extra ticket to the old library and former Royal Palace.

Coimbra and Aveiro - This was a really great tour. Our guide Inês was extremely helpful and accommodating. Her knowledge both areas made the trip very interesting even during the longer driving parts. Ines made sure that we did not have any problems and it was a smooth journey

Amazing Aveiro , Costa Nova & Coimbra tour - Private tour with our amazing guide Lilliana. She was super friendly and very accommodating, a great guide and an incredible person! Made us feel that our local Portuguese friend picked us up and showed us around.
Very professional and highly recommended.
Costa nova was gorgeous, Aveiro super picturesque and so was Coimbra carrying a lot more history. Very enjoyable trip!

Very last minute booking turned out well! - Our guide, Liliana, was incredibly warm and nice, providing flexibility and extra services. Felt like a private tour! We explored Aveiro’s charming canals and colorful houses, complemented by a relaxing river cruise. The tour was well-organized, with timely pick-up and comfortable transportation. Overall, it was a fantastic way to explore Aveiro and Coimbra, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Great day out! - Liliana our tour guide was amazing and made our day very enjoyable. She took very good care of us, was very knowledgable and a perfect driver!
Aveiro & Coimbra were cities definitely worth a visit. Overall it was a great day out so we would highly recommend this trip.

Memorable tour. - This was such a memorable day trip. Our tour guide Victor, who by the way is one of the best we’ve ever had, first took us to visit Costa Nova and the market …. gorgeous place. Aveiro is amazingly beautiful and the Moliceiro boat ride there is a must. We walked along the boardwalk, visited this little store and tried some traditional sweet treats. The weather there that day in the beginning of May was beautiful, sunny and warm. The visit to the university of Coimbra was awesome. Every step of this tour was great, no rush with enough time to appreciate everything. Victor is a very gentle and knowledgeable young man, very pleasant and patient answering all our questions. The whole experience was one hundred percent positive and enjoyable. We highly recommend this company.

Little Venice - We taken on this tour by Liliana from Meridian 4 people. There were only 5 persons on this tour and Liliana could therefore make it personal. Liliana was driver and guide and told us about the origins of the university and how the uniforms the students wear were the inspiration for the Harry Potter films. At Aveiro we were given a ride on a gondola that was very interesting, being told all about the reason the canals exist and the history of the houses along the way. Known as Little Venice. A long and interesting day and Liliana made this worth the while. Thank you.

Great day trip! - This was a great day long trip away from Porto that kept us busy and entertained. We loved visiting the beach town of Aveiro and Costa Nova. Amazing beach town right on the water and then the city full of canals. The University was full of history and Liliana shared so much knowledge with us. She was a fantastic host and we would go on a future trip with her in a heart beat.

3 completely different towns - I liked that Inêz, our driver/tour guide gave us options several times. Loved Aveiro & all the different decorations in the paver tiles & murals. I was disappointed that we were put in with a large French tour group on the boat tour instead of a smaller boat. I feel we got lost in their group.
