Love knowledgeable tour guides who goes extra mile! - Very knowledgeable tour guide. Enjoyed the whole day experiencing the tectonic plates, waterfalls and just happen to be there when volcano erupted and she kept us abreast of the happening!

Best option for a solo traveller - Fantastic tour. It’s cheap but passing through some of the main attractions of the country. The tour team was extremely friendly and funny. The guide was detailing everything from the beginning to the end of the journey with humorous examples which makes the trip more interesting. Highly recommended.

The golden circle with the golden team - Darren the host was incredible. Loved his passion for his job and explained everything in great detail to what our day trip was going to be and where we were going. Helgi the driver was superb too as he got us to our locations in a timely manner

Fab day visiting the golden circle - Fab Golden circle trip yesterday. The trip is run by Greyline Tours and our guide was Bjorn. He was fab- loads of info throughout the trip. All three locations were absolutely beautiful. We had ample time at each. The lunch stops are pretty expensive so if you are trying to work to a budget bring a packed lunch. Easy quick & prompt pick up and drop off.

Excellent Tour, must do. - Great tour, a very well organised day trip in to Icelands spectacular interior with plenty of opportunities to experience and photograph stunning locations at three main areas. Each stop allows about an hour of free time to explore, two with associated high quality service, toilet, shop, cafe areas. Suitable for all walking abilities, at each point the main attraction is maybe 5 min walk from the parking area but further exploration is possible. Driving by driver Thomas very smooth, not easy to drive on some of these higher altitude snow covered mountain roads in challenging weather conditions. Guide Mateus very knowledgable on the general and natural history of Iceland and gave a brilliant and informative running commentary which really helped make the journey entertaining.

Awful - Don’t waste your time or money - This was a 1 hour tour masked as a 7 hour tour. The bus made 3 stops picking people up before starting. The tour had only 3 stops (continental divide, geyser and waterfall) each were good for about 20 minutes each. The rest of the time you were crammed on a fully packed in motor coach for 5-6 hours of just driving. Then they decided to detour at the end and let 10 people of the 60+ people off in town which almost caused a mutiny because people couldn’t decide whether or not to get off in town or go back to the ship. Finally, that was resolved but this detour caused us another 25 minutes on the bus sitting in traffic trying to get back to the ship. All said, this was the worst trip we have ever booked thru Viator and would not recommend it at all. If you want to visit these sights either rent a car or hire a private driver as it can be all done in a fraction of the time.

I wanted to love this tour but.... - I want to love this tour but by the end I had a huge headache. First the company needs to better explain the pickup/dropoff process. I had read previous reviews that had missed their pickup so luckily I called the day before to confirm. I was told the company would send either a Grayline Bus or a "green" bus to pickup from the hotel. I was told to be outside at 9:25 AM. 9:30 arrives and no pickup by either bus, however, several other vans and buses had pulled up in front of the hotel. All say Reykjavik Tours, Glacier and Airport. At 9:40 I contact the tour company and they assured me the bus was on its way. 9:48 a "green" colored city bus pulls up and I had to go to the driver and ask if this was the correct transportation. This bus then takes you to Grayline where you will get on the actual tour bus, I would just advise bookers if in doubt, ask every bus and van that pulls up to your stop if they have you on the list. Drop off, the tour guide just starts yelling out bus stops numbers. I had no idea what bus stop we would be dropped off at since we had been picked up at the hotel. I finally pulled up Google maps and just found one close to the hotel. Secondly, while the tour guide was very knowledgeable about Iceland and history, she talked the whole 8 hours of the tour. At times, I just wanted to look at the scenery and enjoy the bus ride. I don't think anyone on the ride had a clue at times what she was talking about because we had all just stopped listening. Please limit the information given on a tour to perhaps a few details about the locations visited. Talking for 8+ hours about history from the 1100's is not necessary and ruined the entire trip.

Viator - marketing company who has no sway with third party operators of tours - Viator is a middle man. Tour operator is a third party . Tour was scheduled for 8:00. In fine print it said pickup 7:30. I didn’t see this small print and showed up at 7:35 and bus left without contacting me. Calls to Viator and tour operator were unanswered and resulted in missing the tour.

Don’t use gray line Iceland for your tours - I won’t even give it a single star since we had worst experience with gray line Iceland , we booked two tours with them , for northern lights tour , they did not pick us up from hotel. Tour was supposed to start at 9:30 pm and nowhere it was mentioned pick up starting at 9:00 pm, they booked us on next day but it was not a good experience , tour guide was not good. And for golden circle tour we requested refund and they refused to give it since we wanted to add secret lagoon to the tour and they were not offering that experience. Overall it was a very bad experience and I wont recommend it to anyone. Bus travel Iceland and Reykjavík exercusions are way better with modifying and cancellations. And we wanted to change the plan since blue lagoon was closed and our reservation got cancelled . It was not our fault but they refuse to consider.
