James is awesome - James, our tour guide was AMAZING. His knowledge was extensive, and his empathy and compassion, as well as his sense of obligation to share some of the the not-so-pleasant history made for a very meaningful and memorable experience. He clearly loves what he does.

Very Interesting Your - I had a great time learning about the Jewish Ghetto with Daniel I really like the tour and what he had to say but it started to rain so hard that we had to leave It was absolutely pouring. However Daniel got me interested in the subject and it went back the next day on my own to explore the neighborhood when I could be dry.

Great walking tour - Great history and walk! We really enjoyed doing this with our children — 11 and 13. Lots of history of ancient to modern Rome as well as history of Jews in Rome.

Excellent walking tour of Jewish Rome - Paul was a terrific guide. As a history professor, his knowledge of the modern day Jewish experience and the recent as well as ancient history was excellent. This tour was more than the Jewish ghetto area - it encompassed ancient Roman sites as well as the Vittorio Emanuele II monument and Mussolini's headquarters. I've been to Rome several time, including living there as a student and I learned quite a bit. Paul took his time and answered all our questions and we even got a kosher gelato toward the end of the tour! Highly recommended!

Worth it! - The guide was an American.. which was surprising but made the tour easier without a language barrier. He was knowledgeable and appropriately sober in the right spots of learning about some of the tragedies that this community experienced over hundreds of years.

Great route taken, tour not focused enough on the Ghetto and Jewish culture, history - Great history of Rome. Would have liked for more in-depth recount and focus on Ghetto. We took a great route and the guide was very knowledgeable about the history of Rome, starting at the area of Rome first populated in BC around the Forum and ending in the Ghetto with present day recounts of WW2 deportations of Jewish families who resided in the Ghetto. I felt like 70% of the tour was focused on outside the Ghetto, I would have expected more to be inside the Ghetto given the title of the tour, with more real life stories of the Jewish population, culture, history of the neighbourhood, e.g., in this shop they did xyz, during this festival they celebrated xyz here by doing abc. No complaints about the guide, I understand she was trained in a certain way and she was fabulous, it is more about the content of the tour which the company manage which I feel is misleading in the tour title.

Ok tour - Guide knew more about Rome than Jewish history but I learned a lot about the Romans. Separately, definitely buy tickets to go to the synagogue (sold right in front of the synagogue) and museum in the basement of the synagogue that gives a great overview of Jewish and local Rome history
