Ephesus, a city second in size only to Rome in the Roman Empire, was home to over 250,000 people during the 1st BC. It was a harbor city and it’s impressive architecture was built entirely of marble. Ephesus also boasted the largest amphitheater in the ancient world, with over 25,000 seats.

Next, we’ll visit Miletos. Here, you can find ancient ruins situated near the Aegean Sea, including an ancient theater built around the 4th century BC, capable of holding over 15,000 spectators. We will also visit the well-maintained Bath of Faustina, named after the wife of Marcus Aurelius, who commissioned their construction.

Onwards, we’ll visit Didyma, an ancient city that was connected to Miletos by a sacred road. Here we visit the remnants of the Temple of Apollo, one of the largest Hellenistic-period temples. Despite its massive size, the temple was never fully finished.

Finally, the tour will conclude with a return to your hotel.

Intense, exciting and worth every hours. Best guide ever! - The sites were all great as expected. Dydima was small but worth starting the tour form there; Miletus was bigger than expected and surely a place to see. Ephesus-the core of the tour- was even more spectacular and impressive that anticipated; we asked to dedicate 3 hours to that site only, and it was barely enough. What made the experience memorable was our local guide Arzu. Her knowledge of Turkey's history, culture, and local artisans and even crops was impressive; her friendliness and willingness to share details above the common information, and her flexibility in accommodating our requests, were very genuine and unique. For the included lunch, she took us -under our request-, in a very authentic little -off-the-road restaurant serving only delicious local Kusadasi dishes; then we visit a local ceramic artisan in Selcuk, whose very elegant and unique production is protected and supported by Unesco. We really recommend this tour and suggest to ask her as your guide. Cok teşekkürler Arzu! :)
