- Rila Monastery - Embark on a one-day tour to Bulgaria’s largest monastery, established in the 14th century. Located 2 hours from Sofia, it sits at the base of the Rila mountain at an elevation of approximately 1100 meters, offering courtyard views of peaks reaching around 2700 meters. The visit lasts about 2.5 hours and includes a historical overview of the monastery. Optional museum visits are available (historical museum, Hrel tower, kitchen, guest rooms, and ethnographic museum). There is no entrance fee for the monastery, but museum visits are not included in the tour price. Afterwards, return to Sofia to visit The Boyan Church, situated in the southern part of the city, a 2-hour drive away. Entry is subject to reservation due to limited visitor capacity (ticket not included, 5 euros). The visit lasts 30 minutes. Both sites are part of the UNESCO cultural heritage, with the church showcasing construction phases from the 11th, 13th, and 19th centuries.
