Highlights

AIRPORT - NEGOMBO

Negombo Beach - Often referred to as the “Little Rome” of Sri Lanka, Negombo is a charming coastal town near Bandaranaike International Airport. Known for its historic churches, fresh seafood, and pristine beaches, Negombo is an ideal spot for a beach holiday either at the start or end of your Sri Lankan adventure. With activities like kite surfing and a lively nightlife, there’s always something to do in Negombo.

NEGOMBO - SIGIRIYA

Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress - Sigiriya, also known as Lion Rock, is a world heritage site chosen by King Kasyapa (477 – 495 CE) for his new capital. He built his palace atop this rock and adorned its sides with colorful frescoes, similar to those in the Ajanta caves in India. The mirror wall features verses from as early as the 8th century, written by people on various subjects such as love, irony, and personal experiences.

Village Tour Sri Lanka & Village Safari - In Habarana, you can enjoy a traditional bullock cart ride through lush green paddy fields to a rural village. Here, you’ll be served tea and “jaggery” along with a lunch prepared in authentic Sri Lankan style. The tour includes demonstrations of traditional cooking methods and a visit to a paddy field to see how local farmers protect their crops from wild animals.

SIGIRIYA

Minneriya National Park - Located in the North Central Province of Sri Lanka, Minneriya National Park was designated as a national park on 12 August 1997, after being declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1938. The park was established to protect the catchment of the Minneriya tank and the surrounding wildlife. The tank, built by King Mahasen in the third century AD, holds historical significance.

Pidurangala Rock - Pidurangala is a massive rock formation a few kilometers north of Sigiriya. It shares a history closely linked to the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Though less grand and more challenging to climb, it is often overlooked by tourists. Formed by volcanic activity, Pidurangala appears larger than Sigiriya but has a steeply sloped upper surface, making it unsuitable for large-scale construction. The surrounding rocky outcrops offer a glimpse of what the area around Sigiriya might have looked like before its transformation into a royal citadel.

SIGIRIYA – DAMBULLA - KANDY

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - Sri Dalada Maligawa, or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, is a Buddhist temple in Kandy, Sri Lanka. Located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, it houses the relic of the Buddha’s tooth. The relic has historically played a significant role in local politics, as it is believed that whoever holds the relic governs the country. Kandy, the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings, is a World Heritage Site primarily because of this temple.

Kandy Lake Club - Cultural Dance Show - Sri Lanka, rich in culture and tradition, offers a vibrant and unique show of traditional dances through the Kandy cultural show. The highlight is the fire-walking act, where performers walk barefoot across a fire pit covered with red-hot charcoal, emerging unharmed at the other end.

Dambulla Royal Cave Temple - The Rock Temple of Dambulla, also known as Dambulla Golden Temple, is located about forty-seven miles northwest of Kandy. It is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers 160 meters above the surrounding plains, and the area contains over 80 documented caves. Major attractions are spread across five caves, featuring statues and paintings.

KANDY – KITULGALA - BENTOTA

Royal Botanical Gardens - As Sri Lanka’s largest garden, the 147-acre (60-hectare) Peradeniya Gardens require ample time to explore. The gardens feature around 4,000 different plant species, with the 10,000 or so trees being the main attraction. These mature, lofty giants include many tropical timber trees and showcase Sri Lanka’s flora along with representative species from around the tropical world.

Geragama Tea Factory - As one of the world’s top tea producers, Sri Lanka offers tours of tea estates like the Geragama Tea Factory. Visitors can see the tea processing machines and purchase tea on-site. The estate spans many hectares, appearing boundless from one end. Tourists can walk through the estates, observe the tea manufacturing process from plucking to packaging, and buy freshly packaged tea in various variants.

Adventure LK white water rafting kitulgala - Experience white water rafting on the scenic Kelani River, navigating 5 major rapids and 4 minor rapids. Suitable for anyone over 10 years old, the activity includes safety gear, modern rafts, and a comprehensive safety briefing by instructors. The 5-kilometer route offers an enchanting experience amidst the river and its surroundings.

BENTOTA – GALLE - BENTOTA

Galle Fort - Located on Sri Lanka’s southwest coast, the Bay of Galle was first built by the Portuguese in 1588 and extensively fortified by the Dutch from 1649 onwards. Galle’s history dates back to Ptolemy’s world map of 125–150 AD, when it was a bustling port trading with Greece, Arab countries, China, and others. It is mentioned as a “port of call of the Levant” in the cosmography of Cosmas Indicopleustes.

Unawatuna Beach - Unawatuna is one of Sri Lanka’s most famous areas, particularly popular for its beautiful southern beaches. Just an hour’s ride from Colombo, Unawatuna is an ideal spot for a few days’ stay. The small town offers great shopping, guesthouses, trendy restaurants, and various activities and sightseeing opportunities.

Madu River - Enjoy a magical speed-boat ride along the Madu River, a wetland estuary covering 900 hectares, with 770 hectares of water and 64 islands. The boat ride offers a closer look at this complex wetland ecosystem, a world heritage site protected by the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands, and one of the last wetlands in Sri Lanka with a pristine mangrove forest.

Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation Project - The Turtle Care Centre at Kosgoda beach is one of 18 turtle hatcheries along Sri Lanka’s southern coast. Established in 1981, the center is located in the South Western village of Kosgoda and is popular for hosting all five species of turtles that visit Sri Lanka. Unlike many other hatcheries on the island, Kosgoda’s beaches host all species of turtles.

BENTOTA - COLOMBO - AIRPORT

Arcade Independence Square - This monument marks the location where the formal ceremony for Sri Lanka’s self-rule began, with the opening of the first parliament by HRH Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester, on February 4, 1948. A statue of the first prime minister, Rt. Hon. Don Stephen Senanayake, known as “The Father of the Nation,” stands at the head of the monument. Most annual National Independence Day celebrations are held here.

Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall - Located in Colombo, the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall is a convention center built between 1970 and 1973. It was a gift from the People’s Republic of China in memory of Prime Minister Solomon Ridgeway Dias Bandaranaike.

Gangaramaya (Vihara) Buddhist Temple - Gangaramaya Temple is one of Colombo’s most important temples, blending modern architecture with cultural essence. The temple is known for housing a young elephant named Ganga, who is chained at the back, unable to walk, and often seen swaying sideways. Tourists have also reported seeing her cry.

Fabulous trip touring Sri Lanka with a friendly, knowledgeable guide - We have spent 14 nights and 15 days travelling Sri Lanka following our engagement in Dubai for NYE. We were warmly greeted at the airport by our guide Dankuka, who stayed with us for the majority of our time. Danuka has been the best guide we could have possibly asked for and without him we certainly would have had a different experience! We explored many places including the local villages, temples, safaris and enjoyed some local traditions. All of these whilst feeling safe, being provided with the knowledge we need on where is best to eat, what to avoid and anything we could possibly need. Furthermore, Danuka provided a first class service being the liaison with all the different hotels and having each room decorated and with cake for our special occasion. This was very well received and much appreciated. Danuka has been an excellent guide, who has known the answers to all of our questions, gone above and beyond (including getting medicine when it was needed!), made a reservations for us and has been a great companion with an excellent sense of humour to keep us company, look after us and make sure we have the best time possible and see the most of Sri Lanka!! The extra effort, going above and beyond has not been unnoticed. It has certainly been a trip to remember and without Danuka this would have not been the case - so thank you very much!! I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to see the real Sri Lanka and have the expertise and safety blanket of a good quality guide who is also very personable.

A wonderful trip in Sri Lanka - Our tour guide Dhanuka picked us up at the airport at 1:30 am and took us to a very decent hotel. We were so worried that we might have to sleep at the airport but the tour guide was so caring, he was waiting for us after we passed the secure checkout, and also found a hotel that allow early check in. And his wife woke up at 5 am that morning to prepare very delicious breakfast for us. The whole trip he did a wonderful job. The sites we visited were well schedule and the hotels were very good. His knowledge about the country were superb. We had a very good time and is a tour to remember for life time.

Memorable and happy vacation in Sri Lanka - From the first day I contacted Hello Travel to my last day in Sri Lanka, I was an exceptionally satisfied customer. Mr. Dhanuka Prasad was the one and only person I dealt with and he accompanied me throughout my stay in SL. Tour Package was customized to suit me and I did everything I wanted to do in SL. Hotels selected were 5 and 4 stars ones and were very comfortable. Meals at the various hotels were excellent. Car provided was clean, comfortable in excellent working condition and AC was cool. I felt safe, I felt like I found a son in Sri Lanka through Mr. Dhanuka Prasad. He took care of me throughout my stay and went way beyond the call of duty especially during a stomach challenge. He has the perfect skill set for being in the Tourism Industry. Professional, knowledgeable, has a passion for his Country and always displayed a deep concern for my welfare and happiness

A 10 stars trip to Sri Lanka - More than I expected. Mountains, rivers, water falls, beaches, UNESCO ruins, Magnificent temples all in this beautiful island. Quiet, peaceful, tranquil and calm. A place for meditation and make peace with yourself. People are very friendly and warm and cozy, they treated you like a loving grandmother treats her grandkids. For those that were torn by life, or those that would like a break from daily schedule, I highly commendation you come to visit this island. No more tears only smile on the whole trip.

Best organized tour, well suited to my timetable. - The Hello Travel agency where very professional. They organized the trip, booked hotels, arranged the transports and scheduled the visits according to my time of travel. Without them I could not see all these places in Sri Lanka within one week. Mr Dhanuka took care of everything very well. He advised me through all the necessary documents before travel and took my feedback every day for the convenience of the trip. He was so responsive if I ever needed to change anything in the plan. Mr Thushara, the driver and the guide, was best of his kind. He was a gentle, professional, humble driver. He had a tremendous amount of knowledge about the places that he takes me. He explained about the history, traditions, atmospheres, geography,…,etc. He was so kind and very respectful man. I definitely recommend them for travel and I will surely hire them again for my trip to Sri Lanka.

A wonderful trip around the island - Dhanuka was extremely responsive and helped me design an excellent cross-island honeymoon tour, bespoke for my requirements. He was always available to address any queries and went out of his was to help us. He even helped us find a great doctor in a medical emergency and arranged RT-PCR tests for our flight back. The driver, Manoj, was also extremely responsive and did not unnecessarily push any local restaurants or attractions.
